Let's see who is back and who is here for the first time
It was a quiet morning in camp this morning with the campers for this session yet to arrive. The activity leaders were busy setting up the registration area and putting together arrival packages with t-shirts, wristbands, and other camp essentials. The new campers began arriving slowly at first before the bus from Sofia arrived and we were flooded with the new faces of excited campers. After registering they were shown to their rooms to unpack and meet their roommates for their time at camp.
How to begin a camp stay the right way
Once everyone had arrived and seen their room, we had pool time with many of the kids taking the time to swim and play games in the pool whilst others chose to sit around the pool and chat with new friends. Dinner followed pool time with the kids having some free time afterwards, during which lots of the kids and staff got involved with exciting games of volleyball, football, and table tennis.
The evening activity today was icebreakers to introduce the campers to each other and the staff. The first icebreaker was personal bingo where the kids were given a bingo card of prompts and they had to find someone in camp that matched each square. Some managed to get bingo although some had to try hard to find people with the same astrological sign or someone who had been in a helicopter.
And this is how our first evening goes
After an exciting start to their Zenira camp experience, the cambers were out into families and introduced to their camp 'parents'. Once family time finished the tired children went quickly to bed excited for tomorrow.
