After a hearty breakfast which was more like an English style one than Bulgarian (bacon & eggs), we headed to the beach flying the camp flags like a band of soldiers preparing for battle.
Kids were looking forward to a day off English lessons, so beach time was extended and they enjoyed a cool swim in the sea to start their day.
For those who chose to stay on campus instead of beach time, there was games of scrabble, pictionary and charades which provided much amusement for both kids and staff alike.
The new kids came and brought with them a wave of energy and after doing their Placement tests for English lessons quickly interacted with the kids already at camp. It is always one of the best parts of being involved in these camps to see how quickly kids make new friendships, forge alliances and get involved in activities without a second thought.
After dinner we went into the Ice-breaker activities that mark the beginning of each new group arrival, and the kids threw themselves in with abandon to various games designed for them to learn new names and introduce themselves
With the kids informed about what lies ahead in the coming week, there was a mood of optimism and excitement in the camp as we went to bed exhausted, but happy after a Sunday at Z camp!
