The final day at Z Camp, and as alarm bells rang campers were in reflective mood. The daily trip to the beach went down with the usual enthusiasm… teachers were buried in the sand, castles were built, sea horses were found at the sea pool and a refreshing swim was had by most.

Lessons followed and the students worked as hard as ever, as they reviewed their time on camp and anticipated the tearful farewells ahead.

Upon completion of classes students engaged in a variety of games to win points for their individual teams. It was a beautiful sight to behold watching the young and able do battle with the old and slightly unable.

The evening award ceremony marked the crowning moment of the camp. Staff and students gathered to watch videos and share the unique memories they had all helped to create. Awards were handed out to mark the wonderful achievements of each student. Staff also received awards for their efforts, but the biggest reward of all was the love, warm hugs, and wide smiles from the amazing students of Z Camp week 8 and 9.

Buba’s song expressed the thoughts of most as we move towards the future. The sun has set on camp but will rise again tomorrow as we move towards next year. We hope all our beautiful campers remember above all, be kind, be safe, and be curious. Till we meet again…
