Monday, 22 July, Z CAMP 2019
Do you know what the smallest breed of dog in the world is? Which food does a Panda eat? Can you tell me how many days there are in June? Maybe you can. But you’d need to be a Z camper to stand any chance of knowing how many languages Buba speaks, what animal Piers has tattooed on his arm, or director Mike Dewar’s middle name. These questions and many more were asked to our campers, who were in 8 teams, at Monday night’s Z camp quiz.
Party atmosphere
There is such a party atmosphere at the camp that Buba exclaimed ‘we could just stop this and start a disco’ during the name that song round. A great time was had by all on our grassy patio outside the classrooms. If you can believe it - there was a 3-way tie for top spot with 3 teams on 53 points. Well done everyone!
New theme for the week: Environment
Earlier in the day we enjoyed the beach where water games were the order of the day. Then we had a fantastic introduction to this week’s Environment topic in our cinema, hosted by Piers. This reminded pupils of how beautiful our Earth is, and asked questions of how we can help to ensure sustainability, recycling and generate clean energy.
What a Wonderful World lyrics
Class 1 finished off classes for the day by singing What a Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong. Here are the lyrics for you to enjoy too: -
I see trees of green, red roses too
I see them bloom for me and you
And I think to myself what a wonderful world
I see skies of blue and clouds of white
The bright blessed day, the dark sacred night
And I think to myself what a wonderful world
The colors of the rainbow so pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces of people going by
I see friends shaking hands saying how do you do
They're really saying I love you
I hear babies crying, I watch them grow
They'll learn much more than I'll never know
And I think to myself what a wonderful world
Yes I think to myself what a wonderful world
