Friday, 12 July, Z CAMP 2019
The second Friday for Z campers started with a much needed delicious breakfast, followed by preparing our packed sandwiches.
Rezovo - the meeting point between Bulgaria and Turkey
We started the day by hopping on the bus which took us to the village and seaside resort of Rezovo, just 40 minutes away from our campus. There we took a short walk, which led us to the meet point between Bulgaria and Turkey.
We were mesmerized by the beauty of the sea beneath us. Many campers shared that this was not their first time visiting the border, separating the two countries.
Lunch time
We then went on to enjoy our prepped lunch under the shade. For dessert we had freshly picked fruit by the campers. It was a quite relaxing experience for all of us. That first stop along the way was only the beginning of a long day, full of enjoyment.
Veleka river boat trip
After lunch, we were off to Veleka river. We all couldn’t wait to arrive at the river and go on a short boat trip. Split into different groups, each boat sailed for around twenty minutes along the river before returning to the shore. After this adventure, we got even more energized by some tasty sweets. Then, it was time for our water fight. Needless to say, it took us little time to put on our swimming costumes and return to the boats. Off we went prepared for the fight with water pipes. By the end, we were all soaking wet, but very cheerful. This last stop put a happy end to our excursion. Campers had some time to relax before heading out to their outdoor activities in the late afternoon.
Football, tennis, volleyball and swimming
As usual, the children practiced a sport of their choice. The options varied between football, tennis, volleyball and swimming. Some of them chose to sing and play the guitar. After a hearty dinner, it was time to award the brightest stars of Z Camp.
Highlight of the day - Award ceremony
The award ceremony was the highlight of the day. Many people received a prize for contributing to the positive atmosphere in the camp. The categories varied between best volleyball player, best football player, most helpful student, funniest student and so on. Although the night was exciting, it was also melancholic because we had to say goodbye to some of our campers.
