What a day it was – cake making, arts & crafts, music workshops…. kids went to bed very happy!
The bakers made two delicious-looking cakes but had to practice their patience as they needed to set in the fridge for several hours.
The music class involved the singing of rounds and the basics of guitar-playing: a good taster for any kids who are interested in picking up that instrument.
In the arts & crafts group, the space theme was truly embraced: with papier-mâché, they made a start on creating their very own planets – to be continued as their creations dry overnight.
After dinner, everyone sharpened their wits during the camp’s very first spelling bee, this one exceptionally difficult because it involved space-themed vocabulary. It was a very close call, resulting in a tie-breaker between three teams, and ending with a groundbreaking correct spelling of the word “astrophysicist”. It can be said that everyone was duly impressed.
After this heated space-battle, it was finally time to sample both the chocolate and the strawberry cakes – they tasted as good as they looked.
