Another beautiful day at Z-camp starts with a hearty breakfast and some morning chit-chat around the table.
Morning time - Beach time
After a catch up on their respective sleeps, a visit to the local beach was in order. A relaxing swim, some competitive sports and catching up on the all-important tan were managed before returning to camp for some English lessons.
English lessons on Sports
The theme of sport continued in today’s lessons. The older students had good hearted debate about whether sport is too important in today’s society. After some carefully thought out arguments, and sometimes some heated exchanges, the conclusion is that sport is indeed too important. I’m sure that won’t stop our campers from loving it though! While the older students shared their opinion, some of the younger students created their very own ‘Z-camp Olympics’. Sports were chosen, competitors were suitably kitted out and humorous mascots were born. The students loved using their knowledge of Z-camp and the new vocabulary they have learnt this week to create their very own event.
Sports and music were on for the afternoon
Talking about sport in their lessons got the campers eager to practice what they had learnt. Sports and music were on offer for the afternoon activity. While some campers brushed up on their skills to become the next Jimmy Hendrix, others had a friendly competition of football.
Evening activity: Sports Fashion Show
After letting off some steam, dinner was served. Unfortunately, the rain that was forecast finally showed its face, but this did not dampen the mood on camp. Everyone was excited to start the evening activity: Sports Fashion Show. The campers were split into 4 groups and each were given a sport that they had to design an outfit for. Of course, they were given objects which would not make it entirely simple! Their creativity and enthusiasm shone. We had tennis players strutting their stuff, horse impersonators and football tricks all on one stage. A very funny and entertaining event ended. That was a fantastic day at Z-camp!
